* "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" Problem Logging In?

If you get an "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again" error when you try to log in, you need to be sure you are accessing the board with a url that starts with "https://ecauldron.com".  If it starts with https://www.ecauldron.com" (or "http://www.ecauldron.com") you will get this error because "www.ecauldron.com" is not technically the same website as "ecauldron.com". Moving to the more secure "https" means it is more picky about such things.

Owls in the Northern Traditions?
« on: September 10, 2017, 04:38:28 am »
I'm currently connecting with the Owl and am wondering if anyone has come across any mention of Owls  in the sagas or folktales. Three mentions I've come across in the Northern Traditions is a grave in Fyrkat, Denmark, where a Völva had an Owl pellet with her ritual tools; the second mention is when a deildegast turns into an Owl or other bird; and lastly, in Sigrdrífumál 17 we read that one of the objects Runes were carved on was an Owl's beak.

Thanks for any help.

Urglaawe honors owls in their Muunraad. They are sacred to the White-Haired Lady, the Weisskeppicch Fraa.

Now, sorting through what is original Germanic folk custom, and what was added syncretically from Classical, Medieval, or Indigenous (possibly Lenape) sources... well, it is the religion with homework.

Owls are associated with Frau Berchta in Urglaawe. I have seen people associate them with Holda since she is possible "sister" or "cousin" to Berchta. The "white women" type goddesses are often associated with most white birds. But I personally only associate geese and storks with Holda.
