I think the forum was called Skadii, Skaldii or something like that. I closed out of that site after I read a post claiming that Obama was being controlled by the Jewish Hierarchy. [/conspiracy!] I was curious to see if this was a common thought amongst heathens.

Well... Just like the Christians and Muslims got their right-wing extremists we have our own over on skadi and stormfront.

Thanks for the welcome, and I will keep this in mind. When you say their bad luck will fall back on me, this has to do with the 'Wyrd' concept, right?

It has more to do with the concept of "Hamingja".
The hamingja of a familie is basically the stream of luck which runs through the generations of the family. It can be improved as well as damaged and reparied through the actions of the family members and the community members.

Try to read the first 5 chapters of Grønbech´s "The culture of the Teutons" (especially those on luck):

A-ha, that rings a bell... ... Yep - Skadi forum.  As Hlewagastir says, pretty much the same ilk as Stormfront (though AFAIK Stormfront isn't specifically religion-focused).  I see that racism isn't the only sort of BS they promulgate.

I can give you links to the threads on TC's archive board where they're mentioned, if you want, but I don't know that it's necessary; you've seen for yourself where their heads are at.  I'd say you might as well just chuck out any info you picked up there; most of it'll be rubbish, and any bits that are accurate you can find in more reputable places.

I agree that would not be someone I'd think of honoring.  I do think you raise an interesting delima though, that being where are the boundaries as to who is family and who is not?  One of those questions, is family ones direct line back to the first ancestor or is it all that have carried the name or descend off that parent ancestor?
