Show off your inkage!
« on: January 10, 2013, 11:44:11 pm »
For fellow tattoo enthusiasts, a place to share the artwork on our skin canvas and to ask/answer questions pertaining to tattoos for those who are interested. :)

I'll start with a couple of my own.

Very nice!

Mine

Really?  So, hey, want to go fishing?  I\'ve got a telescope, and it\'s going to be a dark night, so we should see the fish really well.
...what, I\'m not talking about fishing?  That\'s stargazing?  It\'s all doing-stuff, so it\'s the same thing, right?

Love the details. I wish my first tattooist had used a smaller needle, but hey it's been 8 years. :p

Mine hates me cause of all the fine line stuff LOL.  Those small needles hurt worse tho!

Only problem with Norse symbols is that groups like AB also like to wear them...

I've only had one tattoo that hurt and that's because it was over a massive nerve cluster, so it never went numb or.. anything. :D: Good times! My last 3 tattoos I had done with a smaller needle, but I haven't had the time to really take new photos of those yet.

It's kind of a pain how one small group of people can ruin something for the masses. But hey, attitude speaks for itself in most instances. :)

If you don't mind me asking - what do the runes say. There is one rune in there that is throwing me....

No the pain is not that bad, I fell asleep during one of them - that buzzing noise of the machine is very relaxing to me LOL.

But there were spots that did were pretty tender for a few minutes. Mostly around the back of my arm.

I love the moral compass!

So the runes are written vertically, and basically translate into my personal mantra of holding true to yourself no matter what the opposition. A couple of the runes healed wonky for some reason, but I've chalked that up to 'flesh knows best.' Strength, isolation/solitary/independence, truth.

See the tribal flower stem on the back of my arm I had to have the tattooist do half a dozen passes over repeatedly to get the ink to sink in and he was cringing watching himself do it, but it didn't hurt....? I think maybe I'm missing the nerve in that location. :p

"Duty, Honor, Country"

Though it actually says "Country, Honor, Duty" since the words got copied in the wrong order. I used a slightly modified H rune, that might be what's throwing you.

You must be! That spot hurt totally bad for me. Worse than any other spot in any of the other ones.

The black and red fancified (yes its a word :p) bind rune one I didn't feel even though part of it is on my collarbone. Its my dads initials and I got it a couple days after he died. I chalk that up to it was honouring my dad and it was meant to be.

It was the Uraz you used that threw me - its a little different than what I am used to.

Very nice ink BTW if I did not say that earlier.
