Paragons of virtue

Partners in crime

Defenders of faith

Societal elite dealing

in political grime.

Storytellers

Warmongers

Teachers

Despots

Humanitarians

Families

Huddled masses yearning to be free

of their collective inhumanity.

Destroying Paradise

one invention at a time

A savage history

soaked in blood, toil and pain.

Occasionally a Buddha,

but more often a Cain.

We are binding ourselves tight in a winding sheet

woven of selfishness, bitterness and regret.

Hope is not lost though,

lingering in the dark corners of our chest.

Greed and despair

have not choked the life from us yet!

Rise up, O my Brothers!

Raise your voices, Sisters dear!

Open your hearts!

Open your minds!

Discard useless dissensions,

and hatreds that blind!

Only together will we defeat all our fears.

We say we want Truth,

then wail and hide from it's light.

There is no one true path for all

but a life freely lived

is a universally sacred right.

Search within and improvements enact.

See clearly which lies

are put there purely to distract.

Waiting for others to step up and lead,

is simply a waste.

Become the changes you wish to see

For Today is all that we have,

and there is need of haste.

Fashion yourself into a Hollow Bone

that Creator's love may flow.

Our time is now

and we have plenty to do!

We stand on the Wheel

With All Our Relations;

No better, no worse.

Unknowingly connected

to all of Creation.

Be a Blessing unto others,

Not a Curse!

And if you cannot be better,

Then at least attempt to do no worse!

Replace Peace

where you find it broken

Give Love

instead of Fear

Cleanse yourselves,O my Siblings,

From souls

to shores

to skies.

Be Gentle in your life songs

for they are written upon the

Soul of the World!

Be Grateful,

for the chance to learn

to taste Life

to set great change in motion.

Be Humane,

not devious planetary Locusts.

Be Honest diligently with yourself.

Then look past blame

and forgive trespass;

we deserve no lies.

For as within, so without,

and the World will turn withal,

Beloveds.

Spiritual beings, we,

on a physical journey.

Creating Karma

and doing laundry

as we attempt

to understand

Life around us.

Just One

among many,

All Connected,

spinning in Infinity.

So, Here is my hand

Here is my heart

take them as gifts

freely given

that Our great healing

may start.

Hi! Been way too long, good to see you :) Hope this finds you well! Haven't written a stitch in ages. I've had a very difficult song singing it's way through my blood, struggling to form into words. This is part of my singing series of poems, and I'm not entirely sure it is finished; there is simply so much that wants to be expressed! For those new to the game, each poem is inspired by a Teacher found in Nature; a star, stone, plant, animal, etc that holds lessons of Wisdom for those who listen. Can you recognize who is singing today?
Wishing you laughter

Great to see you again. Unfortunately, I'm drawing a great big blank on this one -- and I really doubt a "great big blank" is singing. :ashamed:

Congrats Aster Breo for naming this difficult Teacher, Humanity! :) well done. Any particular clue that you found helpful? I only have the poem portion written for this one and feel like I am only seeing the tips of the iceberg when it comes to writing the "informative" bit lol but, this piece was a long time simmering in my blood before it could bleed out into words. I'll take it a step at a time and see how it goes. Thanks for playing and I hope you enjoyed!

Randal, sorry I've been gone so long. I've been stuck between straining this song out and life duties :) haven't written a stitch in Ages, and this past month has all been spent in parceling this poem out a few lines at a time lol definitely one of the most difficult pieces for me! Being a Blank Page (or Clean Slate) sounds good to me! ;) If more of us were willing to adopt that attitude, we might improve our situation overall
