Woohoo! Congrats! Hooray! Excelsior, True Believers!

Gonna look forward to reading it as soon as I get to finish the one currently on my Kindle. XD

I really love that you used excelsior, as that's my nickname for genitalia that's regularly gendered as female. So when I read your post I shouted VAGINA in my head.

Also, yay! Loki has a bit part in Stranger Skies, by the way, but I'm thinking He might have a larger one in the third or fourth book. In which case I should really read up on Him before that one gets outlined, and not just rely on info from Thor and The Avengers. Artistic license only goes so far. :ange:

Also let me know what you think of Bellica whenever you're finished! But only if you like it. If you hate it, never tell me. For I will cry.

So I already squeed a bit about this in chat, but I need more accolades from forum members. WORSHIP ME LIKE THE GOD/DESS I AM

Finished writing my novel today. It's called Stranger Skies and it clocks in at just over 70,000 words. That's good, because I wanted it to be 90K at the absolute out, and I've got some stuff to fill in still. (There are parts of the book where I've got [FILL THIS IN LATER] or [HERPY DERPY WHO KNOWS FIGURE IT OUT LATER] because it wasn't pertinent to the plot and I just wanted to finish the damn thing. No more spending 13 years writing a first draft; sheesh.)

Basic premise: Silva, goddess of wolves, Lady of the True Woods, while in search of a missing friend, falls to a planet where no one believes in her and becomes mortal and humanoid. She must save the wolves of this land from encroaching war, regain her godhood or at least the ability to change into wolf-form again, find the missing deity Etan, and discover why certain other gods have gone missing from the Council of Deities. All within the span of a mortal life.

Also she falls in love with a mortal who is on the opposite side of the war, and becomes apprentice to a witch.

Anyway, it's the first in a larger series I've got planned that includes an all-out war among the gods. I'm pretty excited about it and hoping to get the outline draft of the second book finished within the next month, as well as revisions and edits to the first. (Oh, and finishing the first draft of the sequel to Bellica. Busy!)

I feel like an actual author now because I've actually finished more than one novel, so. You should shower me in Nutella and double-espresso-flavoured vodka. (It's a thing.)

Or not; whatever. :ange:

Bloody enormous congrats!

Whew, no pressure eh? ;)

I hope to have it out by August-ish. Don't hold me to that; it's a VERY tentative date. But it'll definitely be out this year.

Um...dare I ask...

...what's your nickname for male genitalia? Imperius rex?
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

I don't have a nickname for all penii, strangely. Just for the Ogre's. And it changes depending on the mood I'm in. (I don't know how the poor boy puts up with me; I'm madder than a march hare, AND I'm a writer. He's doomed.)

the nickname excelsior came out of a conversation with my brother, who may have been quoting a comedian. I'm not exactly sure; it sounded like his actual comedic voice (my brother is perhaps the funniest person I've ever known), but others have told me that that's an actual comedian's shtick, but not whose.

thanks to you. You are now like my personal mirage. I have two beginnings of  novels and no finish in sight for either so seeing this thread woke me a bit and reminded me all I am missing (ah, the supreme rush of the sweated for finish, gotta love that!)

I buy you a virtual beverage of choice.;)
