How is everyone doing during this last week of NaNo?  Is the 50K goal in sight for anyone?

I am not finishing this year....a first for me, but I'm okay with it.  I definitely learned a lot (about what to write, about burnout and extending myself too far, and about fighting a story that doesn't want to be written).

This sounds familiar.  I realize, in retrospect, that taking four creative writing classes in the two months leading up to NaNo was probably not the wisest of ideas.  I learned a lot, but started to burnout just as NaNo started.

I don't know yet if I'll 'win' this year, but I'm going to try to plow through the last 13,000 words this week.  Evernote's mobile app may save the day this year.  It's been great for getting down a few sentences whenever I have a little free time.

You got this!

Yeah burnout is something that I'm still wrapping my mind around...because the two major things that sort of hang over my head (blog and patreon story) are the two that I really WANT to keep doing!  I think I just need to figure out more efficient ways to work and better ways to refresh in between....

Currently at 44,668, since I finally got this chapter to go.

And my personal wordcount says 50,010, but the Nano verifier says 50,125.

Way to go!  It's always nice when the numbers magic in your favor...not so nice when it happens the other way.

Either way, a worthy effort.

I started a new job the day before Hallows, so my brain is filled with training stuffs. Didn't add a single word to muh Great 'Murrican Novel this month, and might not look at it til mid-Jan.

Yay, go you!  I squeaked over the 50K mark last night.  So glad this one is over!

It is probably a terrible idea, because, although my work schedule has somewhat stabilised, it still gobbles up too much of my time and spoons, so it's a matter of time before I fall off the wagon, but... there's a story that wants out and I might as well try to let it.

Unsurprisingly, it was a resounding failure at just over 5K words, but hey, those are 5K words I hadn't written before, so I guess there's a net gain there.

Any gain is a victory in my book!
