I mean I was already a rebel I went into this with a project with ~70K on it to make more words happen.

More rebel! Nothing wrong with that.

It was! (And Outcrossing was 2017's, though I didn't win NaNo that year.)

I am with you on 'what even is time?', though.

And Outcrossing was 2017's

A copy of which is now sitting on my to-read shelf  :D

(I was slightly surprised at the dimensions, I've rarely seen fiction paperbacks in that format, though I have some nonfiction books and hardback fiction the same size. I have no idea how these things get decided.)

It's the cheapest and easiest of the print on demand sizes, weirdly. (Print on demand is also weirdly hard to price, because expanded distribution does really weird things.)

But I do get people who want paperbacks, so. (I may eventually figure out doing print on demand through Ingram rather than through KDP, which is the Amazon side,  but that is a long-term project.)

This month went by so fast! Hope all of you are doing well with your writing endeavors.

NaNo was just stressing me out this year, so I stopped.  I really need to work on my writing burnout....

Sorry to hear it.  NaNo can be challenging if you're already feeling burned out.

Yes, but it's sort of forcing me to face my burnout, and to think much harder about what I can change to make things better.

Probably has something to do with standard paper sizes and not having to crop the paper, or something.

In other writing-related news, I am currently doing a section of fight scenes and it is going surprisingly well.

I won NaNo on classic mode again! It'll take a bit for this one to turn into a book, though. (For one thing, I probably have another 30K words to go in it.)

But I'm really delighted with it, and it has some ridiculously sweet parts in it.

In the Seed went from about 75K to about 126K!

And I haven't written a damn thing since 29 November when I beat NaNo. ;P  Which is unfortunate 'cos I've got a deadline on the 31st.

I enjoyed my first NaNo, but I didn't accumulate my 50k win this time. In fact, I'm still working on it right now. I thoroughly enjoy the story, setting, and MC. Looks like it's gonna be longer than 50k to say the very least...which I kinda suspected. But hey, all in due time. Has given me more initiative to write every day in order to finish it.
