So who's doing National Novel Writing Month this year?

I'm going to be making my second attempt at NaNo, but I'm worried about stretching myself too thin, creatively, since I've got some commissions to work on and an ongoing novel illustration project that's piled up...sigh. But spending a month frantically writing is really what I need, since I tend to get really down on myself about my writing and never finish anything. There's a lot of freedom in just writing a lot of whatever and accepting the work, however bad it is, for a month.

I'll be writing completely self-indulgent ~erotic lit~ about gay werewolves. The poor darlings have been wandering around my head for years without a real story to call their own.
I'm avalonauggie over there, feel free to add me! I love having writing buddies and most of my friends from earlier years seem to have dropped out.

Oh my, I can't believe NaNo slipped my mind!  I will be writing again this year, so I guess I better work out what I want to write about.  I've had several thoughts floating about, from non-fiction Pagan to high fantasy.  I have done fiction every year in the past so was thinking about pushing myself to something harder with non-fiction, but have to get over my fears first.

I am Ascillian, feel free to add me :)

You know you totally stole my idea for a thread. I started this a while back in the Writer's Circle group. So there. =P

So, um, yes. Doing a story about a goddess who falls to a planet where no one believes in her and she loses her powers. Discovers her chosen people (wolves) are also on this planet and she must help them. A quest ensues.

Working out a beat sheet for it; may actually succeed at planning a novel. For once in my life. Cue shock and horror.

I'm also considering participating in Smashwords' Nanowrimo promo, where they let you upload an ebook version of your Nano wip during the month of November. Haven't made an official decision on that yet, but if I end up deciding to do it I'll link it here and y'all can see raw, first draft stuff from your favourite author an author that you know.

This will probably turn out to be a horrible idea.

Anyway. I'm katjevanloon on the site.

I'm editing my story title to be:

Sexy Gay Sex-Positivist Racially-Inclusive Cowboys. I want to see how long I can make the title by the end of the month.

No, I'm not channeling my frustration with the world and the kyriarchy (as expressed over in the trans*thread going on right now) into a writing project where I can challenge all the assholes in my life, why would you think that.
Maker, though the darkness comes upon me,
I shall embrace the light. I shall weather the storm.
I shall endure.

I'm not doing anything new either, but will use the NaNo pressure/motivation to work on a project that should've been in editing stage for a year now... well, on after the other.

Similar here - I've got a novel idea that's been thrashing around in my head for ages, but I've got too many other ill-thought-out projects on the go to actually do anything with it.

I'm so chuffed to see other people are doing stuff with a paganish, fantasy and sexuality-diverse slant.  I've personally got a reworking of Frankenstein going on (that's legal, it's in the public domain) which is going to be a steampunk lesbian zombie kind of thing.

I have been deeply indecisive about it, but I've decided I am going to participate this year. Just have to decide what to write.

Option 1 is the real fantasy novel idea that's been rattling around in my brain, but doesn't have a middle or end to the plot.

Option 2 is the Alice returns to Wonderland idea that I outlined a NaNo or two ago but didn't write, but I don't have the time to do the Victorian era research I would like to do for it.

Option 3 is my AU Harry Potter story that I plotted some of but never completed, because I found Alternity and it was better.

That's funny, I just signed up, and my project is The Untitled Children's Fantasy (with Zombies & Witchcraft.)

We'll see just how long it stays 'kid friendly.'

Oh, and I'm darthchingus, if anyone's wonderin'.

I am in as SkySamuelle there too ... I am writing a fantasy/horror with murder and ... mermaids. Currently I strive to write more, faster.:ashamed:

Stolen for my FB friends doing it.

I'm not doing it myself (I can never get endings done), but the writer I'm helping with world design things I'd be happy if they manage 500 words this month.
