I live about 2 hours from where NibbleKat lives, and it's a pretty big deal here, too, because there's a huge Mexican-American segment of the population.

I think they miiiight do well here in NC, because we have a huge immigrant population, so the culture's getting much more well-rounded in terms of people's awareness of stuff like Day of the Dead. I'm not sure, though.

Personaly I wouldn't buy them as skulls are not representative of my beliefs or practices. Yet my son would buy them simply because they are skulls and he collects that sort of thing.

Yeah, I REALLY wanted to paint some Orishas, but I can't see those selling as well here, since we're so much further North than where that's an influence... I think that the bit you said about just collecting skulls might be the kicker. But they're fun to paint, so... maybe...

Yet Pagan Pride in most area's I've seen falls in Sept time frame and is associated to Pagan practices and pride in such. It is not associated to Halloween or the candy and parties that that name inspires in the minds of most people.

Granted there are enough "Halloween" costumes to make many of them look like some sort of REN fair or worse. Even to the extent of who is more witchier than another in apperance which I personaly think makes them a joke vice something that paints the pagan community in a positive light to the non-pagan.

Yeah, I think I'll be hitting up a lot of the folks who are buying for Samhain...
