Does anyone else use Blogger to create their blog?

And if so, do you have all sorts of funny issues with it as I do?

For example when I insert a picture it'll (not always, but frequently) do weird things to either the typeface or the paragraph spacing or otherwise do weirdness to the layout.  Earlier I made a paragraph red just to remind me that it wasn't finished yet and I then had the devil's own job to make it ceased being red again later (even though it should just be as simple as highlighting the para and then selecting the desired colour from a palette).

I'm aware there's a new version of Blogger being rolled out - has anyone used it yet in beta, and does it resolve any of the above issues if so?

Cheers

I use blogger to blog (how's that for a sentence that sounds silly lol), and have since I started in 2012.  I honestly do so very little with formatting, I'm not sure I can help.  I picked a fun font at the start, and stick with that, and I occasionally shove pictures in (this past year I started including one at the top just for sharing interest, but every now and again I'll have pictures in the bulk of the post as well).  I have inserted links, and I prefer to replace text for them, but that is a pretty simple thing.

I do remember once I had pasted my text from some other program (I forget why, I think I was copying out a quote or something), and it messed up my font and I had to figure out how to fix that, but yeah, I'm mostly just a "let me write a bunch of stuff and now I'm done!" type of blogger, so all the fancy bells and whistles I kind of ignore.

I use blogger to blog

I'm having fun with a future (currently unwritten) blog post, with the pictures and layout.  Usually, I write the post out, then select and upload all the pictures & get them in the layout just right (well, as 'just right as it'll let me -- they seem to snap to some invisible grid that's not quite like a sensible grid you'd expect to have.  Grrr.)

For this one, it's been possible to work out how many paragraphs I'm likely to have and select & place all the photos first (with 'dummy' text to help with the layout).  It's been quick too (though I don't think it's likely to work this way around for all future posts).

However, Blogger still does some really odd things, like randomly changing the typeface size for bits of or whole paragraphs (and I'm certain I'm not leaning on my mouse or anything).  If you try to justify text a certain way, sometimes it just ignores you (no matter how many times you click the button).  Other times, it'll do it, but then if you change your mind about having it justified or centred and want to left align it again, it won't change it back!  The same thing happens if you decide to colour some text, then change your mind -- it's a right battle just to get it to change back.  (There is an undo button which does work for certain things, but if you haven't changed your mind about a thing until a later writing session, that doesn't help you.)

This is a new version they rolled out, I think, last summer -- and I know I saw something about bug reporting somewhere.  (I didn't do any bug reporting because I wasn't sure I could articulate the things well.  But I felt sure other people would.)  But maybe I'm the only one having these issues and I just don't know how to make full use of the software?

<Sigh>
