This survey is about attitudes towards gays and lesbians and same-sex marriage in general, across different demographic groups in the United States. The Huffington post is choosing to focus on a correlation between young adults' religious affiliation and their views on gays and lesbians. I think this is only part of the reason for the decline, I think it is a general cultural disconnect and lack of engagement with churches and younger people. I remember after I got into about junior age, the church didn't really seem to know what to do with us. Even more so the case in high school. Any attempts they made to be "modern" and "relevant" always seem pathetic- too little too late.
