I have just begun reading the Flamekeeping book and may take you up on this offer.

Okay - I'll start. I'm a newly single mother to 2 children. How do others here juggle flamekeeping with kids and trying to get enough sleep without going insane?

Too late!  already insane!

slightly more seriously, FlameKeeping is something that you do through the day.  You're /parenting kids/.  You do that with awareness, with care, with love.  You try to help the children grow into the best possible people they can grow into.  It's not juggling - they're SUPPOSED to go together.  FlameKeeping is of your life, not a separate thing.

Not just parenting, of course, it goes with whatever it is one does in the day.

As far as parenting and getting enough sleep .... sorry, still working on that! Only got one kid, but my gods he's turbo enough for half a dozen! (even the teachers agree!)

Wow, I remember when Flamekeeping was Heartshadow and, like, one other person. Things sure do grow.

I'm vaguely aware that there are two Flames involved, but what's their significance?

They're metaphors for the soul.  The Bright Flame is that part of ourselves which we show to the outside world, and the Dark is the part that burns only for ourselves.  Just as we need to take care of ourselves (dark) and the world and people around us (bright)

Back, like 6 years ago, when I posted under a different name and Flamekeeping was Heart and 2 other people I was told that one could gain the Guru's favour with gifts and offerings of chocolate.

Now that it has grown (which is really awesome imo) is this still true?
Really?  So, hey, want to go fishing?  I\'ve got a telescope, and it\'s going to be a dark night, so we should see the fish really well.
...what, I\'m not talking about fishing?  That\'s stargazing?  It\'s all doing-stuff, so it\'s the same thing, right?

Yarn.  The guru prefers gifts of yarn.

What advice do you have for someone trying to decide if they want to layer FK in with other practices?

I have found that it's no problem at all. FK works in harmony with other practices and brings an understanding of how things truly fit with the Divine. Plus, it seems to give a clarity that I never found before.

It's actually specifically designed to be compatible with other practices.  It is a religious philosophy and a foundation.  As such, adding in other things is perfectly acceptable.

In fact, even the guru has religious practices that are not part of FK.  :D:  It's not about the practices, it's about the mindset.

Would guru rather fight 1 horse- sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses?

How has FK evolved since the publication of your book?

Any idea how many people consider themselves FKers?

I'm not much into fighting.  Can I hug them?

Evolved ... that's a hard one.  I know it's grown, but I don't know how to articulate it.

As far as numbers, not a clue.  But there is a shorthand issues, isn't there?

What's a good way to start nourishing one's Bright Flame in their local community, when one feels like a distant, awkward outsider?

(And seriously, what's for lunch?)
