I wrote a bit about Hreda, a relatively unknown Goddess, and the role of UPG in my practice with Her.

After nearly a year of silence, just a brief note on the passing of Fr. Thomas Hopko.

I finally hammered out a monstrously long entry about some "fairy husband" stories, except that the structure that I examine include some fairy wife stories, so the wives still count as husbands. Another feature of the story structure is that these are fairy husbands that turn into animals, except for when they don't, so... I included Bluebeard.

And then Wordpress ate the entry and I didn't save the later part, so the parallels between Bluebeard and the Abrahamic god in Genesis, as well as comparisons to Queen Myrtha (from Giselle) and Amy Dunne (Gone Girl) better be left for another entry.

One day soon I'll hopefully have the energy/clarity to fix those awful tense changes.

In my Blog of Mythic Proportions: Music for a Metamythos

...in which my two passions, writing myths and going to the movies, collide via the music of the movies
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs
