I've been reading "Following the Sun" by Sharon LaBorde. It has opened some new doors for my spirituality.

LaBorde's book is. . . so-so. Make sure you read a wide variety of other modern publications to get a broader view.

For your reference, here's a review written, I think, by one of our own Cauldron members: Following the Sun review at Pagan Book Reviews. I pretty much hold the same opinion.
Leave your darkness with me, and I will make you shine.

I actually liked the book, but I had to throw it away when we moved. Bedbugs, groan. I even got her second book, still same end to that one happened to the other. I had to throw away a lot of books.

What about Egyptian paganism by jocelyn almond? Or the texts by Rosemary Clark are they any good?

One of Clark's books contains a sentence something like, "Het-Her's two horns contain the solar disk, which represents the New Moon."

So, you know, if you like your "the sun is a symbol of the moon" symbolism, and the "gets the cosmic roles of Set and A/pep backwards" ... (Clark is not Kemetic, I think, regardless, so much as a Hermeticist/ceremonialist with a heavy Egyptiana focus.)

Erm.  Or, to be a litle more useful: I the half a book I managed to read before I hit that line about Hetharu and just laughed my arse off was ... interesting but inapplicable?  I could probably mine it for ideas but I'm not sure it's useful per se.
