Daily Magical Regimen
« on: November 20, 2013, 10:08:10 pm »
As part of Thelema there is a daily magical regiment. Do you find it hard to to keep up with this daily or after a while does it become just part of your day? Also, how many of you actually have a daily magical regiment and if so, how do you stick with it and keep moving forward?

Huh????

I'm guessing it should have been regimen - a plan or set of rules.

I'd really like to do this for 21 days straight since that's supposedly how long it takes for something to become a habit. I do ritual off and on depending on what's going on in my life/projects/etc. So I'm terrible at maintaining a daily regimen unless that regimen involves drinking or watching Ghost Hunters. :ashamed:

I find it easy once the habit gets established, but once I finally break a habit, it's almost impossible to get it going again. :(

Because I think bumping this thread is a good idea and I thought of something to note, here I am again.

Part that I should acknowledge is that I stopped actively practicing for a while, so while I too want to build habits, I'm also trying to go little by little and get myself back 'in shape,' not doing anything too much until I'm set. In a couple months, I would love to have a more elaborate and magic daily regimen.

I don't have a daily routine, rather I do weekly devotionals which include various types of magical practice.  However, in a few months, I will be working on developing my meditation and trance skills which will require a daily routine.

I've tried that and failed miserably.  For me it was doing libberps (LBRPs) on a daily basis.  Didn't stick with it because I decided I wasn't really that interested in being ceremonial magicky.
I keep threatening to adopt a daily meditation/energy work plan, but that takes planning.  Also, discipline.  It'll happen when I decide it's really important to me.

This is my problem, too.

If it helps, remind yourself that the benefits of a daily meditation/energy work plan very much outweigh the discomfort of learning discipline.  At least, that's what I tell myself.

As a shaman, one of the things I do to move the assemblage point is to break routines by "not doing", therefore a daily regimen would be counter productive.

A Reminder:
Hi, hecate8,

Just a quick note:  Please remember to quote, and to leave all the quote code intact, even if you're just  replying to the first message in the thread.  It makes the discussion  easier to follow, and it's required by  our  rules. (If you're using tapatalk on a phone, please hold your finger down on the message you wish to reply to until the quote function pops up.)

This isn't a formal warning, just a reminder. However, repeated and consistent carelessness with respect to quoting, which you are showing, can lead to formal warnings - I have been fixing them, so that they don't mess up the quotes in later posts, but it's your job, not mine, to make sure you do it correctly.  No  reply is necessary, but if you have questions or need clarification,  please feel free to contact a member of staff privately.

Thanks!

Every night I leave an offering to my deity, light an appropriate incense, and listen to some music while I meditate and care for my tarot deck. I try to always say a prayer right before I go to bed. I also have hand blended oils I anoint myself with every morning and night in the name of my Goddess.
