I love Greg.  Seriously.
I do too. He's such a sweetheart. Only now his dad's manager has screwed up the schedule and we can't go.

Dear family,

so it started with my parents gifting me with a brand new stroller for the baby. Then my in-laws spent significantly more than they usually would for a birthday gift in order to get me a diaper bag I liked - and had actually put on the wish lost for my husband, who has significantly more budget. And then there was this baby wrap, which is significantly above budget, but the perfect wrap to commemorate family ties and my grandparents who didn't live to see the baby. I mentioned as much on my birthday party - and now my uncles and aunts are getting it for me as a gift.

About 20 weeks to go until baby is even here, and you're already spoiling us. Love you all so much. Baby's going to have the best family ever.

That's a pretty wrap. I love to see little children wrapped up snuggly with their parents.

Three years out of college and this week I got my first full-time job!

Dear Mom.

I take it back. You get it. You really, really DO get it. You know what's going on in my head, and you're still not going to call the neuropsych on me.

I said rather vaguely that I was a "mystic" and you just looked at me and went "yeah...?" In a way that said you knew I was massively understating the case. I guess "well duh" has never been your style.

There, I said it.
KARMA: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Dearest Swugbug -

I am so proud of you.  You've come so far and worked so hard at dealing with school and the issues you've had.  If you hadn't done the work, nothing the rest of us did would have done any good.

I am so proud.  You're the best son a mother could ask for.

Mommy.  (and I HAVE said it!)

I'm upset I don't live close enough to be another overly permissive aunt. *sigh* Guess I'll just have to sigh in a lonely way as I watch everyone else raise fantastic kids vicariously. ;)

Dear Tigger,

You're kind of ridiculous. I have no idea what you see in me at all but you think I'm this amazing awesome woman and I'm just like "Are you high?" But you're not...that I know of (Jury is still out). Throughout this entire divorce, moving, new job process you've been another source of calm and humor. I love our silly moments; like when you grope one of my boobs and I grope your chest back to demonstrate how ridiculous that is.

I like that we can both just BE in each other's presence without having to provide a source of entertainment or validation for the other. You appreciate when I tell you that I need space, that I'm having a spazz attack, or that I want to perform some ritual that you deem more than strange. You let me butcher your native language and make fun of the fact that, in the 1600's, your countrymen totally thought they were Neo-Israelites.

You eat just about anything I cook even when it's an attempt at replicating a 14th century soup with dubious instructions. You ironed your clothes shirtless because I asked. You had no idea what "woman porn" was.

You make losing board games fun and hilarious. You make life hilarious and I'm having to kick that wriggling worm in the back of mind telling me that it's all a mirage and you'll eventually realize you can do so much better. But I honestly thoroughly and completely enjoy what we have and wouldn't have it any other way.

**tw: suicidal thoughts**

Reviving this thread because it so desperately needs it.

Dear roomie/landlord/best effing friend,

Your Christmas gift to me meant more than you could ever possibly know. I know you say I'm stressed because of money because of what I owed you, but it was more than that. I was suicidal. I thought that if I killed myself I wouldn't have to worry about the more than $2k in rent I owed. I thought it would be easier for everyone if I was just out of the picture. But by you erasing that debt, you didn't just give me the most amazing Christmas gift I've ever received, no. You gave me hope. You gave me that light at the end of the proverbial tunnel that I so desperately needed.

Now I can, like you said, actually enjoy North Carolina because I'm not so worried about money. So thank you. Thank you for the absolutely most perfect gift I've ever received. Thank you for giving me back my future.

One year ago today was our big staff intake, when Aisling (who has since stepped down as active staff), Allaya, HarpingHawke, Morag, Rocquelaire, and Jenett (though Jenett didn't formally take up her duties until after Paganicon) came on board.

This seems like an appropriate occasion to say what I don't say often enough: Thank you to all our staff, not just those mentioned above but those who were already on staff then, and those who became staff later. I appreciate so much all the work you put in to helping make, and keep, TC what it is.

I second that! TC is really the only pagan interaction I get, and I (and I'm sure others do as well) definitely appreciate everything you guys do to keep it running, and keep everyone in line with the rules.

(Although I kinda wish you guys would let just a hair more spam through. It's always entertaining to read, and the recipes are...interesting to say the least.) But I do appreciate you guys. Thank you for giving us TC!

I third this (or second second it? Or just generally agree with it!)  This place is great, and I really appreciate all the work and effort that goes into it.

Thanks.

Concurring.

In other news, whichever BNP out there started the trend of more Stateside pagans acknowledging where they came from and not wanting to speak for or speak over other pagans from around the world for it...Thank you. Every time it's come up like that lately I've felt like I could breathe, when I had not previously noticed that I had difficulty breathing.

Today marks 9 years of being with Mr Morag, and 4 years of marriage. So grateful I found my very own Ogre deep in the forest and managed to convince him to make a home with me and all my witchy stuff (plus glitter and strings of lights).

Happy Anniversary to us!
