What are your thoughts on sky-worship ?
Do you practice sky-worship if so what are your personal experiences ?

The Mongols called him Tengri and the Greeks called him Uranus

Many Kemetic deities were associated with the sky.  Nut, Hethert and Aset were revered as the celestial cow (Mehet Weret) which was a goddess who was both the sky during the day and holder of the ancestors as the starry sky at night.

I worship Aset as my main goddess. Mehet Weret can also be a hippopotamus.   I have a lotus painted blue hippo on my altar to remind me of Aset as goddess of the sky.

I'll also be starting to honor Nut next month as part of the group Through the Doors of the Sky.
I am the Goddess of Who I can Become. I mix the magic of the sorceress with the blade of a warrior. I walk the liminal pathways to see the face of the Goddess, both terrible and kind. As She stares back at me, I tremble in awe and ecstasy.  --SatAset

I think for me when I think of "SKY" worship I think of Native American and some aboriginal practice of calling upon "FATHER SKY".  In such it is a direct reference to the skies above us not some celestial god / goddess.  Though I admit that is probably more of an animist approach to things.  IN that regard I do tend to think of "Father Sky" at times.

NO I do not use the concept to think of any solar gods / goddesses to me those are celestial not sky.

Same here. as a matter of fact, I only worship 2 deities: Mother Earth and Father Sky.

The Tengri are actually a family of sky deities, not just one. The primary deity of the Mongols and Buryats is a Tengri whose name is usually translated as "Eternal Blue Sky," but he's not the only Tengri. You can find far more info here:

I don't have any specific thoughts on sky worship in of itself, beyond noting that earth worship seems more popular. (A shocking revelation, I'm sure.) It seems it'd be like any other sort of worship- personal and varied.

As far as my own spiritual work, I do practice sky worship in the sense that there's a sky God in my pantheon. I don't actively worship Him however, so my personal experiences are limited.

The Irish only recognized three elements: Sky, Earth and Sea, but I don't think they worshipped them.

Just so people know, this is a very old (almost 3 years) thread, and the OP hasn't been back since.
