Offerings To Roman Gods and Goddess
« on: February 16, 2013, 09:33:08 pm »
What kind of offerings can I give to the Roman gods and goddess. I know that you can offering some of your food to them but is there any other kinds of offerings that are acceptable?

Besides of food and drink, there's aromatic herbs and plants, salt, garlands of flowers, incense, votives, erection of altars, creation of art...

What Fausta said. There are some historically known offerings that were traditional used in the cults of certain deities and we know of plants and animals that were especially linked to particular gods. Nova Roma's Guide to Sacrifice lists a few.

I don't know if I said this but I signed up for Nova Roma last night. Can't wait to see what happens.

You mean their mailing list? It hasn't been very active, though the same appears to be true for a lot of mailing lists. Still, you can always go through the archives: there's a lot of interesting material there ;)
