Dream of a large, terrifying moon.
« on: February 05, 2013, 06:56:30 pm »
So my dreams aren't usually memorable or particularly intense, but last night I had an incredibly vivid dream of the moon outside a large floor-to-ceiling window at my mother's house in the woods. Not her real house, but one of those dream versions.

I looked out over a deck to see the sky, bright with stars. The window was on a second story, above the trees, and the horizon was very close. It seemed that if I leaned out I would see down, over the edge of the earth, into huge, cold space.

The moon was visible in the sky, and as it lowered toward the horizon, it grew larger and larger, until it filled most of the sky, and only part of the moon was visible. It dominated everything, bright, and hot, until it was so hot and bright that if I looked directly at it my eyes burned and were blinded.

I was afraid of the moon, so I looked away from it, to see the planet Jupiter, and despite its distance from the earth it appeared a third of the size of the moon, though I was aware it was far larger. It was red and huge and hot, and I could see the swirling gases. The sky itself grew larger, and the horizon even closer, and then my alarm woke me.

I had to go to work before the sun rose, and I tell you I was freaked out! Seeing the stars and moon right after waking up from that dream was creepy!

I don't know- I've never had a dream like this one. As soon as I woke up I felt like it was important, but I don't know how. Jupiter? The moon? I don't think I've ever dreamed about these before, and certainly never with such overwhelming feeling.

Any thoughts on this dream?

I don't have anything useful to add, but I feel the need to ask if you've ever played Majora's Mask...

Do either the Moon or Jupiter have any special meaning to you?

I only watched my wife play it and I still had nightmares about GIANT LOOMING MOON.

I've never played it or watched anyone play it, and I nearly pee my pants when I see photosets pop up on Tumblr. Like no moon, you are too close. BACK UP.
