I suspected something of the sort - I just didn't know if it was 'life got in the way of checking in' or 'so much life got in the way that keeping a regular Cill shift isn't viable'.

And, yes, you definitely can; I'll repost the current roster to include you, and update the TC calendar right now.

The northern solstice occurs during this cycle, on 20 Jun at 2243 hrs UT/1643 hrs MDT, and 21 Jun at 1043 hrs NZST. To better coordinate 'time of solstice' and 'time of Group Keeping' for everyone, we'll be doing different days - those of us in North America will begin at sunset your local time 19 Jun (so solstice time will be near the end of our GK shift), and those elsewhere* will begin at sunset your local time 20 Jun (and solstice time will occur either near the beginning or in the middle of their GK shift).

*I think we don't currently have any Flametenders in South America. If I'm mistaken, anyone to whom that applies should figure out which sunset-to-sunset period the solstice will fall into for them, or contact me and I'll do the figuring.

The southward equinox falls in this cycle, on 22 Sep at 1421 hrs UT/0821 hrs MDT/23 Sep at 0221 hrs NZST. This calls for different dates again for Group Keeping: sunset (your local time, as usual) 21 Sep to sunset 22 Sep for those of us in Europe and the Americas, and 22-23 Sep for Emerald in NZ. The southern solstice (winter solstice in the northern hemisphere, summer in the southern) occurs at the cusp of this cycle and the next, on 21 Dec at 1044 UT/0344 MST/2344 NZDT. I debated about whether Group Keeping should start at sunset on the 20th, or on the 21st, and decided that there was something especially satisfactory about collectively keeping Brigid company on her shift - so, sunset (your local time) 20 Dec to sunset 21 Dec it is (contrary opinions are welcome; I can still change it if people 21-22 Dec - and if you're Emerald, you might want to go with the later date anyway, so you're not as offset from others' times; that's your call).

This will probably mean Group Keeping is in sync with UAN (link is to last year's announcement thread, since this year's hasn't been posted yet) again this year.
