Anyone else keep a blog on tumblr?
« on: October 14, 2012, 02:54:20 pm »
Just curious to see if anyone else uses Tumblr. I see it as a light-hearted blogging space that is especially geared towards us visual learners. If anyone else is there and would like to follow me, I can be found at http://aradiarose.tumblr.com.

Though honestly, the pagan community on Tumblr is rather blunt and opinionated.

The pagan tag on tumblr is problematic. I mostly stay out of it.

My tumblr is thelittleseawitch.tumblr.com but it's not religiously oriented; like my normal blog, it's a pile of random things that have caught my attention.

I started a tumblr account last week (http://dala-chabas.tumblr.com), but I haven't even dared venture into Pagan or Kemetic spaces. Lots of pretty yarn and Dr Who and Sherlock though. :D

I'd go with rude and entitled while we're at it. The Pagans of Color circles aren't that bad but I learned very quickly to stay away from the predominantly white female pagan population on Tumblr if only because I got sick of receiving "Inbox Curses" for not giving some special snowflake the respect she felt she deserved for throwing around "social justice" terms she doesn't understand.

Tumblr was more of social experiment since I already have blogs/networks I'm a member of but I'd take a Facebook group over that shit-show anyday.

Yeah, pretty much. There are good conversations, but you have to know where to look or get lucky poking around specific tags.

That said, I do have one: http://zharptitsa.tumblr.com/

I do have a tumblr but it's not at all pagan related, just my own person space to blog things that interest me. But i will follow you all(i need more witchy blogs)!

No need to follow if you don't want to but this is mine iputthekinkapow.tumblr.com (As you can see, i've monopolized the word "kapow" for all my social network username needs)

This is the reason why I follow such few pagan/wiccan blogs. I do follow a some though but like you said it's mostly Pagans of Color. And I never go in the pagan tag though. That way lies madness.

Same here: the pagan tags on Tumblr are mostly awful and embarrassing, so I use mine for fandom (now mainly one direction, for my sins), baby animals, art, and random things that catch my eye. Oh, I'm fitchersvogel.

Mine ends up being a weird catchall because lots of things crosspost to it - my blog, my Etsy favorites, stuff I star in Pocket, and I think my Flickr favorites too. Plus, yeah, whatever catches my eye on Tumblr itself.

You know, I always thought tumblr was for porn! Imagine my shock when I found out it had other uses, and that yes, the pagan blogs are generally the worst things ever, possibly only overshadowed by bronies and Supernatural fangirls.

I use tumblr for pretty pictures, my Skarsgard addiction, and sloths. So many sloths. I'm violentsound there.

Oh, I think the racist army inhabiting the Welcome to Night Vale tags are pretty horrendous. The fact that so many of them (the racist fans) are also problematic (read: racist) Homestuck fans shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who's followed any of the fandom fail over the past.. y'know, few years.
