What's yours?

I was not raised in any religion, was always pulled towards witchcraft on my own though.

Witchcraft (childish stuff, didn't know it was really real) -> Wiccan -> Pagan -> Green/Hedge/Kitchen Witch -> Witchcraft...too many labels but I still incorporate Green Hedge/Kitchen Witchery

Raised Catholic (non-practicing) till twelve --> attempted Dianic Wiccan from 12-14 --> Celtic/Irish Wiccan from 14-17 --> Irish Neopagan from 17-ish --> Irish Reconstructionist Bard from 18-22 --> Irish Recon Bard + North American Medicine/Shamanism (heavily influenced from Cherokee and Choctaw).

My current pattern seems to be "As I get older, so do my belief systems."
On hiatus, but might pop in now and then. Just making it official.

My blog. 40% normal, 60% spiritual, 500% details.

Catholic --> Agnostic --> Catholic --> Agnostic --> Buddhist --> Asian Philosophy --> Wicca practitioner --> Buddhist --> Everything/Nothing (came to the realization that all religions and cultures are the same just with a few variations.)

Really?  That certainly hasn't been my observation/experience.

The way I see it each culture's stories and belief systems are very similar to each other no matter the distance between them. They have the same moral systems and the same stories, just different ways of saying it all. It made it easier for me to accept faith and spirituality to see how each culture either comes from another or religions came to be from all the religions around them.

saw a similar thread in another forum I visit. I'll kick it off.

Christian -> Christian/Asatru -> Pagan -> hard polytheist -> aztec beliefs

What's yours?

Non-religious Myth Nerd*>Protestant>Agnostic>Vaguely Wiccan>Polytheist Pagan>Agnostic>Polytheist Pagan

*I wasn't raised religious in my early years and didn't go to church until I was about 9 or 10. I was obsessed with all mythologies but didn't really believe in any of them at the time, and didn't see a lot of difference between, say, ancient Greek myths and the Christian mythos. I tried to make up my own mythology once too. It was...highly unoriginal.

Awesome thread!

Christian => agnostic => neo-wiccan (Scott Cunningham, and Spiral Dance, it could've been worse) => Odyssean Wicca => neo-paganism/shamanism/Asatru (my 'I wonder if Wicca is right for me phase') => Blue Star Wicca => non-practising pagan =>eclectic wiccan

Lessee. There are quite a few more random "My parents felt like trying this out" in between Episcopalian and Eastern Orthodoxy, that I can't recall.

Episcopalian > Assemblies of God > Homechurch > Assemblies of God > Pseudo-Mennonite > Baptist > Orthodox Christianity > Agnostic > Agnostic Wiccish Pagan > Agnostic Celtic Pagan > Eclectic Wheel of the Year pagan focusing on Morgana (Geoffrey of Monmouth) > Eclectic pagan exploring Asatru but probably staying Eclectic so she can have her Celtic when she feels like it, in addition to the Norse

Christian>maybe-agnostic*>feeling a tug towards Paganism>look shiny things!**>eclectic Pagan/still trying to figure it out

*I still called myself a Christian, but to be honest, that was more out of fear than anything else
**what I call my first few weeks as a Pagan, before tM introduced Herself to me.  It was love-and-light stuff.  *shrugs*  It was what I needed at the time.

Great thread idea. This is gonna be messy, especially because I don't fit labels well:

From My Family Influences:

Spiritual Christian -->
New Age ---------->
Episcopal --------->
Eclectic Witchcraft->

                            --> eclectic witch --> Episcopal --> Buddhist --> Daoism influenced --> wiccish pagan --> Celtic Recon --> Shamanic and Druidry influenced, eclectic pagan --> eclectic witch/animist --> eclectic witch/Green Witch, Animist -->eclectic witch, Green/Hedge witch, Shadow witch, Sea witch, Animist, still with shamanic influences and  --> all of the last one, plus AODA.

Somewhere in there, I was (mercifully) briefly Pentecostal, and also somewhere in there I was (much more happily) a Christian witch. I'd be hard pressed to say where, though. And for almost all of that time I believed in and worked closely with faeries -- still do.

Hence, my description of "Spiritual Soup".
"Modesty is an illusion" -- de Sade
"The call of death is a call of love. Death can be sweet if we answer it in the affirmative, if we accept it as one of the great eternal forms of life and transformation." -- Herman Hesse
