    Making Asherah Cakes

The Bible mentions raisin cakes in conjunction with worship of Asherah, the Queen of Heaven (Hosea 3:1). I'm interested in including these Asherah cakes in a ritual for Her, but I can't find any information on how they were or are made, other than they're cakes and contain raisins. I'm guessing, with a passing familiarity of Judaic ritual cooking they probably include olive oil and maybe salt, but I don't know. I can barely cook as it is, and have no idea how to make a new recipe, beyond throw things in the pot and hope for the best.

Does anyone have a recipe for Asherah cakes, or some assistance in making a recipe?

You could offer raisin bread or raisin muffins.
I am the Goddess of Who I can Become. I mix the magic of the sorceress with the blade of a warrior. I walk the liminal pathways to see the face of the Goddess, both terrible and kind. As She stares back at me, I tremble in awe and ecstasy. --SatAset

That's a good idea. I found a couple of recipes, an easy one here and another one with a larger ingredient list from a "cooking with the Bible" website here.

Here's one likely candidate: http://www.ingredientsinc.net/2011/0...rim-tradition/ Jewish tradition calls it "Hamen's Hat," but some people believe their resemblance to a yoni indicates they were originally Cakes for the Queen.

EDIT: they're best filled with poppy seed jam!
