Remedies for scarring
« on: May 06, 2012, 01:18:33 am »
I sustained a horrible cut/gouge/puncture wound this evening while at work that resulted in a mess. As a result, the DR's had to put sutures in every which way and have warned me that it is going to leave one horrible scar. I am in the medical field and have tried every scar remedy available over the counter in the past, with little to no result. Is anyone familiar with an herbal remedy that may be worth a shot? As it is, I am looking at ideas for new ink so that it won't be that obvious...thanks :)

Not an herbal remedy, but after I had my thyroid removed I used mederma. It really helped a lot. I had two surgeries. The person who closed me up after the second one didn't do a very clean job of it and it was really ugly. The mederma made it much less obvious. It's not entirely gone, but I'm happy with the results.

Thank you...I can't believe I didn't think of this myself.

Rose hip seed oil (rosa mosquetta oil).  Studies have been done that show it speeds cell renewal and scar healing/reduction.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.
