Free E book on tM
« on: April 16, 2012, 03:38:50 pm »
David Rankine's book is available free at the moment for the kindle - may only be today though.

Avalonia have been  making a lot of their catalogue available  free for the kindle but typically for only 24 hours so you will need to be quick if you want it

Thanks for sharing this. I've circled this book a few times but based on reviews alone it didn't seem worth anywhere near what the list price was.

I've got it in paper (dead tree) form and am glad to have alot of the myths put into one book. I'm glad it's in kindle form now too-I"m thinking of getting one as a backup :)

There are free Kindle apps available for both pc and mac users as well as several smartphones: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_softwareupdates_apps?nodeId=200783640

You will still need an amazon.com acct to reg the app to if you'd like to get free books from amazon etc but you don't have to have a kindle to enjoy the books. :)

Kindle for PC available from Amazon lets you do it on the PC

I just wish they'd dump the DRM - I have a perfectly usable Palm Zire that has Mobi-Pocket - but I can't put the Kindle version on my Palm because of the damned DRM encoding

That's usually the publisher's doing. Same w/kindle library books that can't be used via wifi and have to be transferred via USB.
