Who in your mind are some of the best and most accurate Celtic Book authors? Barry Cunliffe comes to my mind.

Most accurate about what topics?  There's a fair amount of specialization out there, once you get past the general introductory texts.  Different authors handle some topics differently.

Probably accurate when it comes to history and religion. I mean who as who do you think are the most trusted authors in that regard.

Dáithí Ó hÓgáin (suaimhneas síoraí dó)has always been a favourite author of mine, especially since he has given talks at heritage centres and was involved in the Save Tara campaign. He'll be deeply missed in the world of Irish scholarship.

I like the stuff that John and Caitlin Matthews put out, but I wouldn't necessarily call it accurate. Inspirational, yes.

Generally, I trust the reading list on the CR FAQ website (which clearly notes problems with certain authors), as well as the material recommended on Seren's blog.

I'm posting from my phone right now, so I don't have the links at hand, but you can either search TC for threads mentioning them, or just google.

Personally, I like different authors for different kind of material -- such as the distinction between historical and inspirational that Karen mentioned above.  Also, my focus is skewed because I'm primarily interested in material on Brighid, rather than on Celtic religion in general.

(For Brighid info, see the very long resource thread in the Cauldron Cill SIG.)

My favorites of the easily available authors are Sean O Duinn, Miranda Green, and Alexei Kondratiev (particularly his chapter on Brighid in _Devoted to You_, edited by Judy Harrow. Erynn Laurie's book on ogam is excellent.  For more inspirational material, I like _Kindling the Celtic Spirit_, by Mara Freeman, and some of Caitlin Matthews's work.

Is that the kind of info you're looking for?
