Merry Meet!
« on: February 28, 2012, 10:34:54 am »
Merry Meet! I am from Turkey. 16 years old. I have been gathering knowledge about wicca/witchcraft for about 3 years but I haven't practice yet. I really want to practice yet my family doesn't allow me to practice as I need to practice only in my house. :D: As soon as I pass the university exam and move to another city, I will begin practicing. I feel myself prepared enough to be dedicated, at least. But maybe I will be able to begin practicing soon if the Universe supply an opportunity :) . Anyway :p I am trying to be interested in almost every traditions and Gods & Goddess. But Celtic and Egyptian traditions impress me a lot, more than others. As I was attuned into Ra-Sheeba and Golden Triangle energy systems, I am thinking about that I may advence quicker on the Egyptian way. But there is almost no sources about it in my country. Actually, mixing all traditions is the best and the most obvious way. :D:

As I've found out, you really don't need any tools to practice if there are people around you who disapprove of your religious choices. You could always start meditating, praying, or learning how to do rituals without any implements. It's be tough, but it can be done. Good luck, and welcome to TC!

I agree with Thorsvin about the implements - mostly what they are is props to help focus the mind.  Regular meditation can give you the same effect - help you learn to focus your mind on your goal.

Mixing traditions is an old standby - "Steal from any source that doesn't run fast enough" is an old truism.  Use what fits your personality and helps you to connect to Deity.

And your English is just fine - as others have said

Welcome to the melting pot of Paganism

As a hedgewitch I fully support this statement! For me I don't think I've ever found a path that has it "all". Any that claim to are lying to you. So, I stick with what works, what rings True, and I toss the rest. Through this philosophy I've wound up studying several religions and spiritual practices and I shall continue to do so. It's been a rich and enlightening path, I wish the same to you and yours.
