Good thoughts for my Grandfather
« on: February 08, 2012, 10:34:21 pm »
My mother's father does not appear to be doing well.

He lives in Wyoming; he moved out there years ago because his doctor told him staying in New England would kill him. He's had two heart surgeries and his lungs have been in bad shape for a long time- he worked extensively with asbestos during his career. We just learned from his sister that he's trying to sell his horses- whom he loves dearly- and that he's on oxygen full time. He's even hired a teenager from town to feed and care for his horses because he's too weak to do it himself.

I don't think he's going to live much longer- I would just like to see him make it back here to say goodbye to his children. Any good thoughts or energy or whatnot for him and my family would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Oh, Juni. (((((Juni, grandfather, and family)))))

Thanks everyone.

Apparently he's been on oxygen full-time since the fall, and just didn't tell anyone. So he's doing a little better than we initially thought- he's not in crisis at the moment- but also a little worse, since we thought he was only using oxygen sporadically.

It looks like he'll be moving out here once the horses are sold; he hasn't said so outright, but my uncle (who is closest with him) seems to think it's understood.
