Planning a trip to the Egyptian spirit world?

Like any responsible traveller, you want to know something about the history, geography, and politics of your destination. You want to know what documents you need to have in order for customs and immigration, what precautions to take, how to book a boat tour, where to stay, what to eat, and when you’ll get the most interesting sightseeing opportunities.

The Traveller’s Guide to the Duat is your guidebook to the spirit world of ancient Egypt, inspired by The Egyptian Book of the Dead. Laced through its humorous presentation you will find extensive information about ancient Egyptian religion and magical practice - from the etheric anatomy of the human soul to what colour to make your protection amulets, and from the history of creation to the rites of judgment held in the Hall of Two Truths. Renditions of ancient spells in modern poetry mark each section, showing the ancient magical texts in a new light.

The Beautiful West awaits! Book your tour today!

(By the way, if anyone's inspired to write reviews or anything on Amazon or other websites that would be lovely.)

It may not be my pantheon but it sounds epic!

There will be an ebook at some point, HOWEVER it will not contain the internal illustrations.  I intend to speak to the artist about the possibility of putting illustrations up on my professional blog and talking about them - the imagery they're based on, their placement within the book, and so on.

There's a kindle version:

http://www.amazon.com/The-Travellers-Guide-Duat-ebook/dp/B008GUMO82/ref=tmm_kin_title_0

But I haven't bought it yet and don't know if the illustrations show up Darkhawk mentioned.

The illustrations are not in the ebook version.  I'm actually intending to post a fair few of them slowly to my professional blog, I just ... haven't gotten around to it.  Only one of them is up (the map).

Are there many pictures in the paper version? There's a paper version available at the German amazon site now, it is much more expensieve, but for a dozen of illustrations I'd say it's worth it...

Three ink-and-wash god portraits (the artist for the interior illustrations as well as the front cover is actually my mother), the map in two versions (whole cosmos and Duat-only), two-page spread of the Hall of Two Truths, drawings of amulets, a couple drawings associated with the souls, three other interior pieces I think, and an endpiece.

I am excited to have it, but it has been in a stack. And being the most recent purchase, hasn't made it into the reading cycle yet. It will though. I'll holler when I get there. Some of my current readings take on the near exact same tones, I am kind of hankering for another one, so I keep looking at the colorful cover and pining.
