The Traveller's Guide to the Duat
« on: February 07, 2012, 01:34:43 pm »
(This is posted with Randall's permission, though I got it back in August!)

I am utterly pleased to announce that my first book, The Traveller's Guide to the Duat, has just been released by Immanion/Megalithica.

Short story of this book:  years ago, another Kemetic and I were out to lunch, and she confided to me, "I don't know what the Book of the Dead is."  I said, "Uh, it's a cross between a hymnal, a grimoire, and 'the Lonely Planet Guide to the Underworld'."  I mentioned this in my Livejournal, and a bunch of people replied, "Ha!  I'd buy that."

Well, NOW YOU CAN.

I can say, having gotten to read bits of it in progress, that it's awesome. (And I am looking forward to my copy coming, even though it is nothing to do with my personal practice. It's an awesome construction, as well as good solid info.)

I saw the discussion topic before I saw this notice. The description alone made me want to read it, even though I'm not really that interested in Egyptian stuff, then I find out who the author is and I go, "Oh! That's why it looked so good!"

Congratulations Darkhawk, and happy birthday! I'm really looking forward to reading your book.
