Of any sort?  That'd be Evangeline Walton's retelling of the four branches of the Mabinogion.  Not hard-recon-class authentic, since they're retellings for a modern audience, not just a translation, but they're marvelous for allowing a modern reader to connect with the characters/deity-figures as people.

That would be The Lore of Ireland: An Encyclopedia of Myth, Legend, and Romance by Dáithí Ó hÓgáin.

Hmmmmm...  So many to choose from!  How to narrow it down...?  ;)

Here's my short list, which includes a wide variety of books, from hardcore academic to soft inspirational:

Condren, Mary, The Serpent and the Goddess: Women, Religion, and Power in Celtic Ireland

Freeman, Mara, Kindling the Celtic Spirit: Ancient Traditions to Illumine Your Life Through the Seasons

Freeman, Philip, The Philosopher and the Druids: A Journey Among the Ancient Celts

Green, Miranda, Celtic Art: Symbols & Imagery

Green, Miranda, Celtic Goddesses: Warriors, Virgins and Mothers

Harrow, Judy ed., Devoted To You: Honoring Deity in Wiccan Practice, Alexei Kondratiev's chapter on Brighid

Kondratiev, Alexei, The Apple Branch: A Path to Celtic Ritual

Laurie, Erynn Rowan, Ogam: Weaving Word Wisdom

Matthews, Caitlin, Celtic Devotional: Daily Prayers and Blessings

McCone, Kim, Pagan Past and Christian Present in Early Irish Literature

Monaghan, Patricia, O Mother Sun!: A New View of the Cosmic Feminine (not strictly Celtic, but a good section on Brighid)

Monaghan, Patricia, The Red-Haired Girl from the Bog: The Landscape of Celtic Myth and Spirit

O Duinn, Sean, Rites of Brigid: Goddess and Saint

O Duinn, Sean, Where Three Streams Meet: Celtic Spirituality

O hOgain, Dáithí, The Sacred Isle: Belief and Religion in Pre-Christian Ireland

Besides the Evangeline Walton books, my others are the Mabinogion itself and two books based on it by Caitlin Matthews: Mabon and the Guardians of Celtic Britain and King Arthur and the Goddess of the Land.

It'd be great if you could supplement that list by including subtitles and/or author names.  F'ex, I wonder just how many books have been published over the years with the title, "The Druids"?

I would second (third?) that recommendation. She's very faithful to the original texts while managing to embellish in all the right places. :)

But otherwise...I don't think there's any specific text I could point to as an "influence." I've just tended to amalgamate everything I've learned over time, in and out of books, and make my own conclusions based on that. I'm more influenced by other people, like my acquaintances in the CR community. So I guess, if anything, I'd have to point to the CR FAQ.
