In some states you can drop your baby off at a safehaven (like a hospital). Hence the name "safehaven law". I hear about women dumping babies in the trash while living in a state with those laws. It confuses me.

They probably don't pay enough attention to realise that they can do that or that there is actually immunity for them if they use the safe haven

Either that or no one told them about it.

Seems like you could easily call around to look at your options. Or online at a public library. Putting a baby in the trash wouldn't be my go-to option...

If so, then that is sad.
I don't have a uterus, yet I'm aware of the safe haven law in my locality (as well as the immunity portion thereof.)   Best I can tell, I must have stumbled across the info somehow and somewhere.  If 'twere that easy to find by accident, it must be a tad easier for those who actively seek it.

My understanding is this whole effort is really about getting Roe overturned. Which seems pretty damned silly unless the composition of the USSC changes. Right now, it wouldn't go anywhere. Later? Who knows.

There have been rumblings that lead me to believe the whole effort is ultimately aimed at getting Griswold v. Connecticut overturned.

No, I don't imagine it would be.  It might be for, say, a 12-year-old rape victim, though (compared to the hoop-jumping and expense of an abortion in the U.S.).

Yeah. I think that's the ultimate goal. This one is aimed at Roe, but the brass ring will be Griswold v Conn.
