Venting: Idol Destruction

As the title suggests, I am really just venting for a moment. I am extremely peeved at my cats right now, because during one of their, normally cute, nightly runnings they destroyed my statue of Odin. I am angry, saddened, and conflicted on whether or not this is a sign, or just bad luck. I can't afford to get another statue, and I had a ritual planned for the coming spring equinox. I can, obviously still do it, but I really feel weird doing it without my statue; it was kind of a focal point.

Maybe I should sacrifice one of my cats to Odin to appease him (I am joking of course, do not harm pets!).

Has anyone ever had a similar experience? What did you do? How did it make you feel?

I dropped my figurine of Sokar right after I had finished it (useful note: salt dough is really brittle). I had a bit of an 'aw, crap' moment ... then I gathered up the pieces and glued them back together. :whis:

I brought a few statues back from Mexico. One was completely fine. Two had minor damage that I repaired with glue. The third was badly damaged. It had broken in two, and a few other pieces had been torn off. I tried to solve the problem by using modelling clay to bind the two parts together. It worked, though it did ruin the paint.

When I moved back home for the summer after my first year of university, I didn't pack my statues properly, and my father was pretty rough when he was throwing my bags around, so my statue of Dionysos broke into two pieces, and pieces of Demeter and Aphrodite chipped off. I was really upset, both at my father for not being more careful, and myself, for not making sure they were better protected.

I also had a mug I got my mother for Mother's Day that broke in the move, which my father paid to replace, but he didn't pay for my statues. I tried to repair them, but they didn't feel right, so I eventually replaced them when I was able to save up the money.
