The prosperity gospel has nothing to do with requiring payment or being in a sect. It's the idea that if you do the right thing/have enough faith, you'll definitely have health, wealth, and/or wisdom, and if you don't have health, wealth, or wisdom it's because you're not doing the right thing/having enough faith. At bottom it's simply the idea that people cause everything that happens to them, therefore they somehow DESERVE what they get. Which is pretty shitty, particularly when it comes to illness, injury, or financial misfortune.

There's a whole lot of this prosperity gospel stuff kicking around in paganism and the New Age.  (Showing their heritage as siblings, really, the family resemblances are, well.)

 
There's some resemblance to Scientology/Dianetics in sevensons's argument as well: "there are programs in your mind that are making you sick and holding you back from Phenomenal Cosmic Powers! All you need to do is get rid of them with our super-secret methods!"

"Programs in your mind" is basically the refrain of every conspiracy theorist ever.

You can be quite sceptical.

Are you telling somebody to stop using medical treatment for their health issues? Your phrasing is very difficult to follow, but that's what it sounds like.

This is the phrase I was referring to can you tell me where I mentioned medical treatment. if you can explain your self it would be helpful. I know people need their treatment they are dependant.

Believe or not its my theory that the mind causes people to be ill.

Are you saying that those "programs" in the mind you mentioned are the source of all illness?

It goes along with the theory will  be difficult to believe.

Do you have any evidence for your hypothesis?  If so, it would probably help if you presented it. Also, how does your hypothesis handle genetic defect based illnesses?
