I'm having an internal debate with myself. Can you reuse a spell candle--as long as it isn't specifically dressed and carved--for different spells? Or should the candle be stashed for the same spell in case you need it in the future? Or melted down and remade into a different candle? Or.... what?

I know some people say to just throw out/bury partly used candles, but I don't have tons of candle money lying around so that's really not a good option for me.

For spells I usually burn the candle until it is completely finished/gone.
Any leftovers very small bits go into my firebasket in the garden with old herbs etc.

I wouldn't say I do an abnormally large amount of candle work, but it is a considerable amount.  For me personally, I use the tiny birthday candles if it's a one-shot deal or something I don't intend on repeating.  For more long term candle work, I reuse the candle for the same purpose.  At the end of the year, I take all of my left overs and melt them down by color and make new candles.  These are purely decorative, however.

Depending on your budget and textile needs, have you considered amazon?  That's where I get most of my bulk supplies from.

Am I right in thinking that's a found stone with a hole all the way through it?

Sorry - only just seen this!   Yes it is :)

A couple of updates:

-I've started making my own small pillar candles and just reusing the wax as long as it wasn't used for something that would preclude that.

-For shorter spells, I found packs of emergency candles at the dollar store. They're a little bigger than chime candles, but only burn a couple of hours so unless I need the spell to finish NOW, that works.

I know this is an old thread, and I a new practitioner, but I don't really like to spend a ton of $$ on candles. I've bought a pack of tiny little tealights at The Dollar Store, and they usually burn out in a couple of hours. Even if they don't, they come like 20+ in a pack so if I toss it out, I'm not losing more than a few cents.
