(Apologies for the lateness of this - I was going to post it last night after returning from grocery shopping, but was exhausted and forgot all about it. I aspire to, some year, post all three memoriums on time.)

As an officer in the local chapter of the National Space Society and a long-time space brat (my father was employed at the Space Center for the Apollo, Skylab and early Shuttle programs), I thank you for posting these memorials. Lest we forget.

I know that the Soviet space program also lost cosmonauts on space duty, but I regret to say that I cannot recall the names or dates off the top of my head. They deserve to be remembered as well.

What a horrible couple of weeks, historically, for NASA.
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

I have often, when posting these each year, thought of that, and wondered how best to go about it. I'm open to suggestions, if anyone has any!

I don't have top-of-the-head recall on the names/dates either, so I had to look them up. They are Vladimir Komarov, who died when Soyuz 1 crashed after re-entry as a result of parachute failure, 24 Apr '67; and Georgy Dobrovolsky, Vladislav Volkov, and Viktor Patsayev, who died when the crew capsule of Soyuz 11 depressurized while preparing for re-entry, 30 Jun '71.

Well, I've just decided to put all five memorials in my calendar as recurring events, so the day before I should get a reminder.

I read about her on a list website not long ago.

I second this, very much, though please include an explanation when you do so that others will know what horrors she endured.

Do you think her Wikipedia article covers it adequately? That's my usual practice, to include the relevant Wikipedia link.
