Trimming my dog's fur
« on: January 07, 2017, 08:01:55 pm »
One of our dogs has eyes which tend to get gunky and icky, partly due to allergies. I think also it's partly because the fur around his eyes grows a little wild in between groomer visits and stuff like dirt tends to get stuck in it. I've been wondering how hard it would be to trim the fur around his eyes just a little bit, as much to make sure he can see as to try and minimize chances of him getting stuff stuck in the fur. Cleaning them every day only does so much, it seems. Anyone have any experience with this?

I love a good metallurgical take on the phrase "What the F---?"

I do this regularly with one of my dogs, I just make sure there's a comb between her skin and the scissors to make sure I don't nick her. Shes a very mellow trusting doggie which i'm sure makes it easier for me. I find that her eyes do get less gunky when I do this
