Refuse Fascism Call to Action
« on: December 29, 2016, 10:55:34 pm »
The following comes from the Call to Action on refusefascism.org
I did not write it, but I agree with it, and am sharing it for that reason.

Quote
Donald Trump, the President-elect, is assembling a regime of grave danger.  Millions of people in the US and around the world are filled with deep anxiety, fear, and disgust. Our anguish is right and just.  Our anger must now become massive resistance –before Donald Trump is inaugurated and has the full reins of power in his hand

Should we fail to rise with determination and daring in our millions now to stop this, the consequences for humanity will be disastrous.  We, the undersigned, know in the depths of our beings, the catastrophe that will befall the people of the world should the Trump/Pence regime assume full power.

We therefore CALL FOR A MONTH OF RESISTANCE beginning on December 19th, reaching a crescendo by the January 20th 2017 Inauguration Day.

Our resistance must spread rapidly to every sphere and every corner of the country. Because we refuse to accept a fascist America, millions must rise up in a resistance with a deep determination such that we create a political crisis that prevents the Trump/Pence fascist regime from consolidating its hold on the governance of society.

It is my belief that the Trump administration poses a real threat to America, the world, and the people in it.  The extremism of Mike Pence displays a real threat to the religious liberty of non-Christians, pagans not least of all, and the two of these men for a major threat to women.  Their denial of climate change and choice of Myron Ebell to head the EPA are tantamount to aggression against mother nature.

As part of this there are a number of protests planned across America on New Years Eve.  These are currently planned in New York City, LA, San Francisco, Portland (ME), Cleveland, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Boston, Seattle, Tuscon, and Ventura, CA, and more are being planned even now.

I hope some of you will join us in organizing the peaceful resistance necessary to prevent fascism from taking root in America.

Laughable at the very most. As somebody who supports and voted for Trump, I like many other people voted for him to oppose the very thing you call Fascism. The racism of leftist politics and the abhorrent lack of character Obama possesses.
Now I know the thrill of having a black president and also a woman president is amazing, especially for America but you must not throw your dignity away for such pettiness. Support your political beliefs for principled reasons and NEVER emotional ones.

Trump supporters want somebody who will not abandon European Americans the same way he will not abandon African or Mexican Americans.

At least one of those words does not mean what you think it means. Not sure if the word is "Trump", "oppose", or "fascism", mind you...

I don't think he'll suck any worse than any other politician. I am laughing my ass off at everyone whinging and protesting, when these same folks would be outraged if Trump supporters had behaved this way if Hillary won. Does the term "irony" mean anything to anyone? No? How bout "hypocrisy?"

What is it that leads you to believe President Obama has a "lack of character"? What is it that leads you to believe Trump--who lies routinely and demeans women, the handicapped, and veterans in the crudest terms--has character? (beyond that of a TV celebrity pitchman)

What about leftist politics is "racist"? And why do you believe Trump--whose father discriminated against black people, whose nominee for attorney general is racist, and whose NY campaign chairperson, Carl Paladino, is blatantly racist--is not racist?

How have white people in America ("European Americans") in particular been "abandoned"? And how can you even write with a straight face that Trump "will not abandon Mexican Americans" when he as described Mexicans as "rapists" and drug traffickers, and cast aspersions on a respected Mexican American judge solely for his Mexican heritage--the very definition of racism?
The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

How on earth has Trump demeaned women? I wouldn't call him conversations concerning P*ssygate that much of a problem. I have said worst behind closed doors . . . in front of my girlfriend at that.
Nor would I call Trump a profound liar, granted that EVERYBODY in politics must lie. On the other hand he is by far the most honest politician I have seen in a while.

As for the handicap debacle, I agree with your assertions on it. I find it a bad move on Trumps part and also offensive considering who the guy was.

Obama on the other hand will use a families' tragedy as a basis of his anti-gun advocacy. In some cases the families are pro-gun and not welcoming to him. This is just blatant idiocy if you're going to use death and especially tragic death as a means of political support.

Obama disregards state's rights and autonomy of individuals. He uses global warming as a means for political power while using the DNC to promote violence and war in places otherwise best left untouched.

Obama strongly associates himself with racists like Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson to manipulate Blacks for votes.

He will pass Amnesty for Mexicans who are otherwise illegals and bend legislation to accommodate for unfair and unjust voting blocks.

As alluded to before, leftist politics in America is used by politicians for means of manipulation and most of that manipulation is done through race and social upheaval.

Also . . . please do not use such a blatant fallacy of using Trump's father as a means of attacking Trump himself. By that very logic I would say Obama is a Muslim on the basis of his father or an agnostic on the basis of his mother.

Carl Paladino said something derogatory about Michelle, and so what? He does not make it his life's mission to undermine other people on the basis of race or manipulate them on the same principle.
If Al Sharpton said racist remarks about other people then he would be let of. Which he has, ranging from anti-Semitic and anti-white remarks.

Illegals commit very percentage high crimes, if I recall it is somewhere over 30% of federal crimes with a population less than 2%.

Also what he said about the Mexican judge was true and legally speaking accurate. Trump made it very clear that his race could raise potential biases against him if he is presiding over a case involving Trump. There is a legal term for this, "Conflict of Interest."

Granted you brought up some things I find assassine about Trump, that does not change the fact that so many of the things people bring against are entirely absurd. I am a Libertarian and obviously I did not get my pick this election with Gary Johnson who just tossed aside the most basic of Libertarian principles. But I got Trump who although I dislike some of his economic proposals, I still prefer him over Hillary.

Also I am very sorry for this sloppy post. I am posting at 3:30AM which is not ideal for this but I am on a date tomorrow morning and wanna get drunk on New Years and have fun. Wish you the same.

Declaring a minority an internal enemy and calling for militarized unity is fascism.

--Alex Steffen on Medium

Now. You really gonna tell me that Trump--given what he's said about both Mexican-Americans and Muslim-Americans--is against declaring a minority an internal enemy and calling for militarized unity?

...wait, you don't think the "grab them by the " bit was a problem, because you have said worse? Never mind. I am not continuing this conversation with someone who thinks anyone cheerfully admitting to sexual assault is not a problem. (And I feel horrible for your girlfriend!)

How do you mean?

Welp, it's been awhile since I've been lambasted for my politics here. Might as well kiss 2016 goodbye with a bang.

First off, I voted for Trump.

Fake news is propaganda.

Well then we better shut down the mainstream media, who did their damnedest to be Hillary shills for the entire electoral cycle.

The powerful demanding apologies from artists is censorship.

Good. God knows we need a little censorship once in awhile.

Threatening protestors and petitioners is authoritarianism.

Good. I feel blessed to be coming of age in an era of authoritarianism. I hope the protests are broken up by police and I hope the protestors are arrested.

Declaring a minority an internal enemy and calling for militarized unity is fascism.

Thank God. America needs unity more than ever, lest we dissolve ourselves, and we damn well need it to be militarised because of people like these protestors. As for Hispanics and Muslims, I strain to find sympathy for either, and I'm the one who recently converted to Islam. Immigration laws need to be enforced, and they need to be enforced at the expense of the Mexican-American population. No more sanctuary cities, no more winking and nodding at 'undocumented' immigrants. This is a nation that needs to learn respect for the law again, because thanks to the cancerous influence of liberalism we have lost any semblance of it. As for Muslims, the Muslim community in America has nothing to fear as long as it has nothing to hide.
