4:30 am here.  Just watched Mad Max: Fury Road so I'm all octaned and guzzolined for the home stretch.  I just might make it this year!

Right now I'm doing some writing-- okay, okay, keyboard-plinking, really-- and sipping an Arrogant Bastard.  ALL the presents are wrapped.  It's been a great Soulstice night!

Thanks to you, Mr Cooper, for orchestrating this badassery.  Rest well.  You've earned it.

Fell asleep somewhere around 11:45 because I thought I'd be going to work. Got up at 5 to let the dogs out and found a note slipped under my door. I think Mom's condition was worse than I thought. No work for me today, I'll be at hospice with my family.

The sun has risen on Calgary, and I shall now fall over.

Despite it being cloudy and a bit rainy here in Vancouver, the sun has indeed risen.

We made it through!

And now time for Morag to collapse.

I didn't make it*. Fell asleep around 1:30 and woke up at 9:30 to Fiancé telling me to clean the dog bed that got covered in vomit. Oh well. At least I got roughly 8 hours of sleep. But we have a train to NYC to go catch as soon as dearest father-in-law gets here. Gods only know what he has planned for the day before the dinner reservation.

*I also knew I wouldn't be able to, so I didn't bother. Next year for the 10th anniversary I'll actually make plans around it.

I think you mentioned you'll be seeing the Rockefeller Center Xmas tree; I love that you'll literally be steps away from me--my workplace is 2 blocks from the tree--if I'd actually bothered to go to work today, as opposed to calling in sick.

Haha yeah, but our dinner reservations aren't until 7:45 but we're on our way to the train station now. So we'll be doing a lot of walking around. -_-

I woke up juuust in time to see that it was in fact dawn.

And with that, I think it's safe to say that daybreak after the night of the solstice has come and gone in all jurisdictions across the globe, bringing 2016's edition of Up All Night: A Technopagan Winter Solstice to a close.

I want to thank everyone who participated, whether in the thread or in chat, whether for a quick minute or the whole duration...and special thanks to Randall and Lyric, for giving us the space year after year to have our little cyberparty! I for one am so grateful to all you guys for making it so much easier (and more fun!) to get through what could be a grueling night.
