Antidotes to hated Christmas songs

We've already had a few of them mentioned in the thread, but it occurred to me that perhaps they could do with their own thread.

What are your favorite musical antidotes to overplayed Christmas glurge?

Anything by Trans-Siberian Orchestra, but particularly Christmas Eve/Sarajevo or Wizards in Winter.

Whenever I get a glurgy XMas song stuck in my head, I have a tendency to counteract by singing "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" out loud... though this does annoy everyone else in the room.
KARMA: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

A good amount of whisky.
Oh, wait, you said musical antidotes.

Okay.

Metallica.  Played very loud.

+infinity

Other favourite doses include Nox Arcana (Winter's Knight, Winter's Eve, Winter's Majesty, plus the three Ebonshire EPs), Midnight Syndicate (Christmas: A Ghostly Gathering), Anonymous 4 (On Yoolis Night, A Star in the East, Wolcum Yule), Mediaeval Baebes (Mistletoe & Wine), Loreena McKennitt (A Midwinter Night's Dream) and Sting (If on a WInter's Night). Plenty to drown out all the dreck that shops can come up with.

A few anti anti Christmas songs.

The old Half Man Half Biscuit classic "It's Cliched to be Cynical at Christmas".

For a long time this was my main goto on the subject. But very recently a challenger has appeared. My new favourite band Fightmilk and their "It's Only Christmas (Cheer Up You Moody Prick).

I also use the strategy of listening to carols I actually like, that are somewhat obscure. is a favorite. Also the Sussex carol.

That said, I try to avoid retail stores as much as possible during December, to limit exposure in the first place.

Last week at the office, before production break, my friend and supervisor would play Christmas songs out loud because the majority of our team does in fact enjoy them. (Before you think of her as a sadist, she played the Muppets, and Run-DMC in there, so she has a sense of humour.)

Anyway, I masked em the same way I do if I have to go shopping in the month of December: loud shit. Mostly industrial.

This does mean that I wound up playing over , which made the whole thing weirdly sinister. Like JT's about to eat some orphans or something.

Nothing sinister 'bout Puppy in wintertime.  Caught their live gigs in '14 and '15, both in December.  This winter seems a little less cold without 'em.

Oh man, feel my envy.

The sinister feeling must have come from Lance Bass' cold dead eyes, I guess.

This is going to sound like I've hit the eggnog too hard, but the 90s advertising jingle for Bagel Bites is both trapped in my head and has evicted all the annoying Christmas tunes.
