My interpretation:

If you want a pithy descriptor, chaos magic is "results based magic".

It's about the desired ends, rather than the methods you use to get there. Techniques are there to achieve that goal, as opposed to being there for spiritual reasons. Which is why you find chaos magicians picking and mixing their deities, ritual elements (including from popular culture) etc. and dropping them when they no longer seem useful.

The other main thing to chaos magic is that it sees belief as a tool, not a core part of your psyche. So chaos magicians aim to adopt belief systems as and when they are useful.

Probably you didn't notice that thread because, rather than being in 'Witchcraft, Hoodoo, and Folk Magic' where you posted (and which has a blurb that mentions chaos magic), it's in 'Magic and the Occult for Beginners'. I'm moving this thread there as well, because it's a beginner-level question, and so that it will be subject to the Special Rules of that and our other beginner-friendly forums.

I'll note, as well, that most people here don't take kindly to someone who refuses to do any research of their own before asking others to tell them the answers.
