Animals and death
« on: October 29, 2016, 04:11:30 pm »
What do you believe happens to animals after they die, and how does that relate to your beliefs about what happens to humans after they die? Do you believe in reincarnation across species - that a dog could be reincarnated as a human or vice versa? Do you believe animal spirits visit during Samhain, if you celebrate it or a similar holiday?

Do you see the death deities in your religion as being equally concerned with animal deaths as with humans? If not, do you see their deaths as belonging to the realm of a separate deity, or do you believe no deities are particularly concerned with this? Have you ever prayed to such a deity to watch over the spirit of a deceased pet?

Are there any rituals that you perform after the death of a pet, and how do they reflect your beliefs?

This is a topic I've been thinking a lot about lately, since I have a terminally ill dog and a few deceased pets who I typically honor at Samhain. I know this is a lot of questions, but I'm curious to hear really anything you have to say on the topic. And please feel free to point me toward any resources you find helpful for this.

I do believe both animals and plants are no different than humans in that they also have an immortal psykhi (soul), and after an animal or plant dies it is reborn in another body.

As for reincarnation across species, do I think it's possible? Yes, i'm sure it does happen. Do I think it's the norm? No, I believe people and animals on the whole usually reincarnate as the species they were previously.

I like to think they re-incarnate. When I only see one star in the sky, it reminds me that maybe the soul of my old companion lives on in the shape of another being or as a spirit to comfort other dogs.
Either way, no theory can truly compare to their concrete existence in our memories.

Vince Noir: I thought it was good for you.
Naboo: What?
Vince Noir: Well, you know, good for your digestive system.
Naboo: That\'s Yakult!

If I am not sure of something I will always state in my opinion, this however is something I know for fact so can answer truthfully. Animals go to the same place as people,
Because of my relationship with a particular deity I am able to watch those I am connected to when the crossover, it doesn't matter how far away I am as I was in a different country when my dog died and it made no difference. Every animal glows bright green regardless of breed as they are pure nature beings and this is the colour of earth and nature spirits, passing over takes a few seconds, but once there time passes much slower than here, a few minutes here is the equivalent to an hour or so in the afterlife. The size and appearance of both human and animals remain the same but as humans are more complex so are your spirits, In my opinion animals are reincarnated faster as they die faster. If anyone wants to guess what colour they will glow in the next life you can research auras and their meanings. Out of respect for your own beliefs I have refrained from giving the next world a name and I hope this is deemed useful, blessings to all

I'm a Pantheist, so I absolutely believe that animals have soul, rather, that they are a piece of the one universal soul. There's just so much that I don't know or care to know about what happens when things die. I just have this strong, incessant gut feeling that we all go home. I'm not even sure if we retain our individual souls when we die; maybe we all just get mixed up in a soul soup and come back as a mix of different previous experiences. In any case, I believe that the soul is eternal, and that death is a home-going regardless of species.

Your incredibly close to what actually happens with regards to your beliefs, leaving the whole soul soup thing to 1 side that is... But I agree with your mindset that you shouldn't worry too much about the dead as they have little concern for the living, and its not in a bad way but if you already know that everyone you care for will be looked after regardless of what happened then you wouldn't worry either would you? Death is mearly a journey, how long it lasts for depends on circumstances... Love and laughter to ya...
