Vintage Tomorrows

Neat steampunk documentary: Vintage Tomorrows.  Found it on Netflix.

Features lots of authors and artists discussing the aesthetic and overall 'tude.  Fascinating as hell.  I had no idea it'd grown into such a culture.  Now I want steampunk pants, steampunk art all over the damn house, I want a bigass big budget steampunk movie, and I really wish Boxleitner had managed to launch Lantern City

It also has a bit on how the more socially aware members of the community acknowledge history's sharp edges and how that awareness plays out in their steampunkiness.  (I remember seeing that kind of convo here and not getting it, but replacing your pith helmet with a ranger hat?  I get it now.) Of course this made me think of several people here and figured I'd share.

Anywhoo, it's really good.
