I should have posted a thread about this and the Vancouver Island PPD (now past) last month, but alas I have been completely out of it.

Anyway, Vancouver, BC Pagan Pride Day is on this Saturday, September 10th, from 10am to 6pm at Trout Lake Park (south). The Facebook event page is here, and the website for VPPD is here. (Yeah this is ridiculously last minute. I apologize.)

It should be pretty great. There are 8 zones and plenty of things to do, including multi-generational programming (ie, it's kid-friendly). I'm friends with the organizer and I know she's put together a really awesome day.

If you're in the area and have some time, come on down and check it out!
Pray drunk. Hex sober.

Dangnabbit, I missed it. I went last year and poked around before the wind threatened to send everyone sailing into the sky. Oh well, next year!

Heh, yeah. I was going to go last year but it was the Ogre's birthday...which was then pretty much ruined by the storm. He didn't get Memphis Blues because they lost their power with the rest of the city (and was grumpy about that for a full year, until we made up for it by getting Memphis Blues for his birthday this year). I saw updates and pictures online though, whenever we could get wireless.

Yesterday was pretty great! Tons of vendors and a LOT of people showed up, and the VPPD did pretty well in terms of cash intake, so that's really good. The organizer is working really hard to make VPPD self-sustaining so she's not forced to pay out of pocket.

(On that note, there is a public Mabon ritual being put on by VPPD this Friday, the 16th. It has a 5 dollar door fee for people 13 and over (12 and under free), as part of that fundraising effort. If anyone is interested, here is the Facebook event page.)
