A big part of the reason I believe is that the deities I interact with seem to have the most luck getting messages to me through dreams. I've had several dreams about deities I knew little about before hand, and when I finally looked up the symbolism in the dreams, each dream had things that were historically tied to that deity.

I've also received emotions/thoughts that seem to be from something other than myself. I have issues with low self-esteem and such, and so when I'm doing something for my deities (etc) and I feel a sudden wash of love and compassion...it just doesn't feel like it can be from me.

I also feel like I've received things other than dreams. Opportunities, people, songs at just the right time... etc.

All this could be coincidence... but I prefer believing it's not.
