(US Presidental Election) I Side With
« on: June 02, 2016, 09:03:20 pm »
isidewith.com asks where you stand on varies issues and matches your position with those of major presidential candidates. My results follow. Note it claims I side with Hillary when Both Hillary and Bernie at a 96% match to my position. Note that Trump comes in dead last -- what a surprise.

I'm actually surprised Trump is as high as it is for me. But I'm not at all surprised that Bernie is my top choice. I feel the Bern! XD

(Hopefully that works, I'm on Tapatalk so it may not)

My results are:

Bernie Sanders 97%
Jill Stein 94%
Hillary Clinton 90%
Gary Johnson 70%
Donald Trump 30%

Mostly not a surprise, though I expected Clinton to get a much lower score.

A Reminder:
Hi, missgraceless,

While quoting is required, please remember to trim your quotes to the essentials - especially when your reply is shorter than the message which you are responding to. Otherwise, it is very easy for your reply to get lost in the thread.

This is particularly important when there are pictures in the post you're quoting, and also especially tricky since the pics won't show up as pics in the reply box, but as image code - because the image code only takes up a line or two, it can make it appear that the quoted material isn't long enough to need trimming. The image code needs to be trimmed out, to keep the pic from reappearing in the quote in your reply.

This isn't a formal warning, just a reminder.  No  reply is necessary, but if you have questions or need clarification,  please feel free to contact a member of staff privately.

Thanks

My results follow.

My candidates:

86% Gary Johnson
79% Bernie Sanders
78% Jill Stein
71% Donald Trump
70% Hillary Clinton

Not surprised at where Johnson and Clinton placed.  Very surprised at Sanders & Stein being 2nd & 3rd.

Embarrassed as fuck that Trump showed on my list at all.

Oh hey I haven't played with this one for a while - last I poked it there were still forty bajillion candidates in the race.

Sanders and Stein at 97%.
Clinton at 90%.
Johnson at 72%.
Trump at 16%.  ("no major issues", heh.)

I'm curious how they figured out Trumps positions to agree with...After all, he changes them constantly...some times in the same sentence :)

Actually, I would've said the same thing about Hillary. From what I've seen of the two of them, she seems to be the more flip-floppy one while Trump is pretty set in his ways of being a bully.

Clinton is a incrementalist-progressive politician with a lengthy track record.  The whole point of the incrementalist approach is that one takes stances for things that one believes are achievable, with the goal of slowly moving the situation forward so that one can, in time, adopt different, superior positions.  (I am personally too much of an idealist for this, personally; it strikes me as ceding large portions of the ground to the other side in advance of actually striking compromises.  However, an idealist position that compromises requires people who hold other positions being willing to actually do so.)

Trump is wildly inconsistent moment to moment, flipping from one position to another within months depending on which seems to play better, sometimes within the same paragraph.

Consider these:
http://2016election.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=006303
http://2016election.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=006327

And note the dates on the changes.  Several of Clinton's large swings have many years between them; several of Trump's are less than a week, and one is a total reversal within hours.

Not sure why the quote requirement, but when in Rome.

I am a BIG Bernie fan,and wish HRC would pick him for VP,but Elizabeth Warren does not make me angry,I also like her,but Bernie would have been my first choice.
Move along,nothing to see here.
