I am getting the 403 Error and I have tried to research it here before making this post.

I get this too pretty frequently but it's intermittent. First page of a thread will open OK but after that it's a complete lottery.

I too did a complete scan for viruses and malware and found nothing ( as I expected). l

I've just encountered this error as well while logged in, reading the Books to Beware... thread.  It may be helpful to know that after reading Sunflower's reply about the ellipses, I simply deleted the "..." from the URL of the page I was trying to access and doing so allowed the page to load correctly.

I think it's worth keeping an eye on how closely it correlates to threads whose titles end in ellipses, as is the case with 'Our Miserable Future' - it could be that, for some unknown reason, being logged in doesn't always prevent it.

Getting a 403 when trying to access page 2 of "Help-with-finding-my-way..".  Removing the second period was sufficient to get me there.

Interestingly enough, the technical support key generated (1813-c012-96c0-bd29) said that "[my] request contained data which is consistent with spam, active malware, viruses, or similar software" and advised I clean my system.

Thank you for mentioning this. I was wondering if that'd have the same effect. Ifwhen I find time to go through the archives and edit all the thread titles that have this issue, I now know to include those!

That probably has something to do with what's mentioned in post #10 in this thread. It's not really about your computer; it's just that you're trying to do a thing that includes a string associated with malware and other attacks on security.

And, thanks partly to you posting that additional info to this thread, Asrai, and partly to seeing elsewhere, where I couldn't edit it, an egregious error (of the sort that we'd fix if it were on TC, just so it wouldn't make us itch every time we saw the thread), this project is now in progress, with several staff members contributing a bit of time to ellipsis-hunting.
