Do mods answer post reports somehow? I mean, do they write back to the member who reported a post after their analysis of said report?

We read the report, look at the post reported, and if any rules have been violated, we take action. If not, nothing happens.

Reporting a post because the member reporting it does not like the post for some reason (instead of because of an actual rules violation) is unfortunately common. We do not reply to such posts because that often turns into a time-wasting argument when the post reporter tries to convince us that we really do need to take action because even if no rules were violated, the post was somehow "wrong anyway and therefore the staff should fix it."

In the case of the post you reported recently, not only were no forum rules violated, but you the post did not even do what you claimed it did -- discuss the contents of a book. All it did was list various editions and translations of the book. Even if it had discussed the contents, that would not have been a rules violation. Therefore, no action was taken.

I didn't talk about discussing; I reported that post because that post transcribed information from a book someone is afraid to read after this someone having said it explicitly. On a thread about book(s) one is afraid to read.

This can be no rules violation but I think it is, at the very least, very inconsiderate behaviour in that context. A trigger warning could have been a good idea.

1) The post you reported did not transcribe any information from the book. It talked about different versions of the book and people's opinions of them. Nothing from the book that scares you was quoted/transcribed.

2) This is a debate and discussion forum so even if someone had transcribed information from a book that someone was afraid of nothing would be done because doing something about it would prevent discussion. Unless, of course, it was obviously -- in the opinion of forum staff -- being done solely and purposefully to annoy another member.

I cannot see any need for a trigger warning in this case as no content of the book was included. All that was discussed was what editions of the book(s) were out there. Given you already mentioned the book, it seems silly to expect trigger warnings from others mentioning the book.
