Sacred Books of the East

The complete 50-volume set is available to download for free. As an older (now public-domain) project, the translations won't be cutting-edge, but hey, it's still some 50K free pages.

Allow some 600Mb disk space, if you go for the complete set.

Well, I don't know what, if anything, I'll (eventually) download, but that's certainly going in my bookmarks! Thanks!

There are quite a few other books on other religions available on the site as well. Definitely bookmarking this.

For anyone who wants the particular set: don't bother with the links for vols 2 and 3. The file marked vol. 1 includes the first three actual volumes of the work; the other two are just jumbles of six (duplicated) volumes each. Something went wonky there when they were putting the scans together. From vol. 4 onwards, things are normal again, one volume per file.

Volume 50 is an index of the complete work, which might have come in handy in the printed work, but in this format, nah.
