Never mind the Anglicans; Meanwhile, in Germany

700 German churches vote to marry same-sex couples

Landslide vote says ‘no legal or theological reason’ gays shouldn’t wed

The first song sets the wheel in motion / The second is a song of love / The third song tells of Her devotion / The fourth cries joy from the sky above
The fifth song binds our fate to silence / and bids us live each moment well / The sixth unleashes rage and violence / The seventh song has truth to tell
The last song echoes through the ages / to ask its question all night long / And close the circle on these pages / These, the metamythos songs

Your right, this is bigger news than the Anglican suspension of the Episcopal Church. Especially as it is the second group of churches in Germany to approve gay marriages with a third expected to approve it in April.

This is unsurprising. German Christianity, regardless of the denomination, has long been among the most liberal in the world. German Catholic bishops are routinely appalling in the things they say and the Evangelical Church in Germany, to which the churches mentioned in the article belong, is extremely and unabashedly liberal. I'm just taken aback that they hadn't gotten around to this already.

“Believing in the Lord means you are connected to me no matter when you are poor, sick, or struggling in a relationship. I am always with you. I want you to believe that. The future is uncertain, and much suffering awaits. However, the mission of the believer is to live life doing their best, no matter what the circumstances.” — Ryuho Okawa

Ah, see. This is what I meant in the other thread. The German churches *voted* to change policy. TEC didn't wait for the vote and has been suspended for distancing themselves from the voting procedures of the Communion.

It's like, even if you're right in your argument against staff on TC, there's still a process for airing a moderation complaint. If those procedures aren't followed, you risk board suspension.

I agree with Elon Musk and some others on this and don\'t understand why some people are not concerned."

Also: Yay! Good job, Germany.
